Reserve your selected region while we determine whether Townwell is a fit for your company and market. The deposit is credited toward setup if you move forward and refunded if no agreement is signed.

I understand that this refundable deposit temporarily holds the proposed locale during discovery. The locale is only claimed after a full Townwell agreement is signed. If no agreement is signed, or if Townwell determines the project is not a fit, the deposit will be refunded.

Reservation process

How the reservation works.

The reservation process is designed to be serious, but not high pressure. A refundable deposit holds the region while we learn about your company, define the market, and determine whether Townwell is the right fit.

Start with an anchor city and the surrounding area. We will confirm the final coverage area together during discovery.

Place a refundable deposit

A $5,000 refundable deposit places the proposed locale on hold while discovery is underway.

Complete discovery

We review the market, your goals, audience potential, local content needs, growth opportunities, and whether your company is a strong fit as the regional partner.

Receive a launch recommendation

If the fit is strong, we prepare a recommended launch scope, setup plan, monthly service structure, and timeline.

Sign to claim the region

If your company moves forward, the deposit is credited toward the setup fee. Once the agreement is signed, Townwell will not build a directly competing locale for another organization in that region.

If it is not a fit, the deposit is refunded

If either side decides not to move forward, or if the process stalls beyond the hold period, the deposit is refunded and the region may become available to other qualified organizations.

Regional exclusivity

One region. One flagship Townwell partner.

Townwell works because each locale becomes the trusted local hub for a defined community. For that reason, we do not build directly competing Townwell sites for the same primary region.

Regional exclusivity does not prevent multiple Townwell locales from existing within the same state. Some statewide maps, guides, trails, events, or resources may overlap where useful.

The exclusivity is simple

Once your company signs for a region, Townwell will not build another flagship Townwell locale that competes for the same local audience.

Promotion control

You decide how the site is monetized.

Townwell's regional exclusivity applies to the creation of competing Townwell locales. It does not control who can advertise on your site.

As the locale operator, your company decides how local promotions, sponsors, giveaways, and newsletter placements are handled. That may include local businesses, community partners, or even competitors if you choose.

Townwell's recommendation is simple: keep the site useful first. The stronger the community trust, the more valuable the platform becomes.

Locale reservation questions

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes. The $5,000 reservation deposit is refundable if no Townwell agreement is signed. If your company moves forward, the deposit is credited toward the setup fee.

How long is the region held?

The standard hold period is 30 days, with the option to extend if both sides are actively moving through discovery.

Does the deposit mean we own the region?

No. The deposit temporarily holds the proposed region during discovery. The region is only claimed once a Townwell agreement is signed.

What happens if another company is interested in the same region?

Townwell handles regions on a first-qualified-partner basis. If a region is already reserved or claimed, other interested companies may be placed on a waitlist or contacted if the region becomes available again.

Can multiple Townwell sites exist in the same state?

Yes. Townwell can support multiple locales within the same state as long as they do not directly compete for the same primary local audience.

Does regional exclusivity control who can advertise?

No. The locale operator controls advertising and promotion decisions. Regional exclusivity only means Townwell will not build a competing Townwell locale for the same primary region.

What happens after I pay the deposit?

After payment, you will receive next steps for discovery. We will review your region, business goals, fit, potential launch scope, and whether Townwell makes sense for your company.

What if my selected region is not available?

If the region is already reserved, claimed, or determined to overlap too closely with an existing Townwell locale, your deposit will be refunded.
